How do I qualify
WHO QUALIFIES FOR FREE SERVICES?
To be eligible for our free services, a person must meet the following criteria:
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Attend high school in the Edgewood, Harlandale, San Antonio or South San Antonio school districts
- If over the age of 19, live in the target area
- Be low income/first generation college-bound
- Have a valid Social Security card
- If applicable, have a current Permanent Resident card
HOW DO I APPLY?
You may contact the College Placement Specialist on your high school campus. Parents and adults may call (210) 433-9307 to confirm your eligibility for our services and to make an appointment. At that time our staff will review the documents required. They include:
- Completed Application for Enrollment
- Dependent students: your parents signed 2009 federal income tax return; and yours if you worked last year, with all W-2s and schedules
- Independent students: your/spouse’s 2009 federal income tax return with all W-2s and schedules
- Proof of other income: Child support payments, SSI, TANF, disability, unemployment or veterans benefits
- Your signed Social Security card
- If applicable, your current Permanent Resident card
- Your Texas Drivers License or other photo I.D.

- Keep your phone number, mailing address and e-mail current with Project STAY.
- Contact your Project STAY advisor today to ensure all your paperwork is in order for the fall semester.
- In-coming freshmen must make arrangements with the college for orientation and registering for classes.
- Anyone accepting student loans must complete their loan counseling session on-line and submit their master promissory note.
- Deadline for being considered for fall financial aid at SAC, SPC, PAC, NVC and NLC for the fall semester – all FAFSAs, verifications and appeals must be submitted by this date.
July 15, 2010
- Tuition and fee payment due at SAC, SPC, PAC, NVC and NLC for the fall semester. Be sure your financial aid is in order prior to this date.
July – August, 2010
- Financial aid awards at SAC, SPC, PAC, NVC and NLC will be posted and must be accepted on-line.
- Provide class schedule and financial aid award notice to your Project STAY advisor.
